About You:
The Waiter is responsible for delivering exceptional dining service in an upscale restaurant environment. The role involves welcoming guests, taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages professionally, and ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction in line with fine dining standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service:
- Welcome and seat guests in a warm, professional manner.
- Provide attentive and personalized service throughout the dining experience.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
- Ensure guests feel valued and well-cared for at all times.
Order Taking & Service:
- Present menus and explain dishes, specials, and recommendations.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
- Ensure correct presentation and timely delivery of orders.
- Serve food and beverages following fine dining service standards.
Product Knowledge & Upselling:
- Have strong knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Recommend dishes, wines, and beverages to enhance guest experience.
- Actively support upselling to increase average guest spending.
Table & Service Area Management:
- Set up tables according to restaurant standards before service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned station.
- Ensure proper mise-en-place and readiness for service.
- Assist in table turnover efficiently without compromising service quality.
Teamwork & Communication:
- Coordinate closely with kitchen and bar teams for smooth service flow.
- Support Head Waiter and supervisors during busy operations.
- Communicate guest feedback, issues, or special requests to management.
Standards & Compliance:
- Follow all hygiene, safety, and restaurant SOPs.
- Maintain grooming and appearance standards at all times.
- Handle equipment, cutlery, and glassware with care.
Billing & Payments:
- Present bills accurately and process payments when required.
- Ensure correct billing and handle POS transactions responsibly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in upscale or fine dining restaurants preferred.
- Hospitality or food service training is an advantage.
