About You:
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of th restaurants and retail shop, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, compliance with regulations, and effective cost management. The role supports strategic decision-making by providing financial insights, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across all restaurant outlets within the group.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting:
- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and policies.
- Supervise general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Review and reconcile bank accounts, balance sheets, and financial records.
- Prepare management reports for senior leadership.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the restaurant group.
- Develop monthly and quarterly financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and explain variances.
- Provide financial recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
Cost Control & Profitability Analysis:
- Analyze food cost, beverage cost, labor cost, and overhead expenses across outlets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational inefficiencies.
- Work closely with operations and purchasing teams to control costs.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for each restaurant.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Establish and maintain strong internal control systems.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, VAT requirements, and financial laws.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and resolve audit findings.
- Safeguard company assets and prevent financial risks or fraud.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Manage cash flow across multiple restaurant locations.
- Monitor daily sales deposits and reconciliations.
- Oversee banking relationships and payment processing.
- Ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
Systems & Process Improvement:
- Implement and improve financial systems, policies, and procedures.
- Optimize use of accounting and POS systems across the group.
- Support automation of financial reporting and data accuracy.
Cross-Functional Support:
- Work closely with restaurant managers, purchasing, and operations teams.
- Support pricing strategies, menu engineering, and profitability analysis.
- Provide financial guidance for new outlets, expansions, and investments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, ACCA, CMA preferred).
- Knowledge and expertise in Turkish Accounting Law.
- 5–8 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in hospitality or multi-unit restaurant operations.
- Strong understanding of restaurant industry financial metrics and cost structures.
