About you:
We are seeking an accomplished and results-oriented Director of Retail Operations to lead and oversee all retail operations across our confectionery store network in Turkey. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving sales growth, operational excellence, customer experience, profitability, brand consistency, and workforce development across multiple locations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive multi-unit retail management experience, preferably within confectionery, food retail, premium gifting, or FMCG sectors, combined with strong commercial acumen and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Retail Operations Leadership:
- Develop and execute retail operational strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Oversee daily operations of all retail stores across Turkey.
- Ensure consistent implementation of company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Drive operational excellence, productivity, and efficiency across the retail network.
- Monitor store performance and implement corrective action plans when required.
Sales & Revenue Growth:
- Develop strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets and profitability goals.
- Analyze sales trends, customer behavior, and market opportunities.
- Lead initiatives to increase average transaction value and customer retention.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on promotional campaigns, seasonal offerings, and product launches.
- Identify expansion opportunities and support new store openings.
Customer Experience:
- Ensure exceptional customer service standards across all locations.
- Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and implement service improvement initiatives.
- Promote a customer-centric culture throughout the organization.
- Maintain brand standards and premium retail presentation.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets.
- Monitor key financial indicators including sales, labor costs, operating expenses, and profitability.
- Implement cost-control measures without compromising customer experience.
- Review and approve major operational expenditures.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop Regional Managers, Store Managers, and support teams.
- Establish performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Build succession plans and leadership development programs.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure product availability.
- Optimize inventory levels and minimize waste and shrinkage.
- Ensure seasonal inventory planning and demand forecasting.
- Monitor stock turnover and product performance.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with Turkish labor laws, food safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards across all locations.
- Conduct regular operational audits and store inspections.
- Ensure adherence to brand, merchandising, and visual presentation standards.
Strategic Growth & Expansion:
- Support retail expansion initiatives and new store openings.
- Evaluate market opportunities and competitive positioning.
- Participate in long-term strategic planning and business development projects.
- Identify innovative retail concepts and best practices to strengthen market leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–12 years of progressive retail management experience.
- At least 5 years in a senior multi-unit leadership role.
- Experience managing large retail store networks.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, inventory management, and customer experience.
- Proven record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
- Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills.
- Fluency in Turkish and English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree (MBA or related field).
- Experience in confectionery, premium food retail, luxury gifting, FMCG, or specialty retail sectors.
- Experience leading retail expansion projects across multiple regions.
- Knowledge of international retail best practices and franchise operations.
